Why It Does Not Hurt To Try The hCG Diet - January 2, 2012 by John

Apprehensions due to the possible side effects from taking hormones are typical for reasons for people not to try the hCG diet program.  It is true that the human chorionic gonadotropin is a hormone and it is actually a natural hormone in the human body, both men and women.  The hormone has varied roles in the body and it is essentially present in the development of the gonads as well as the placenta during pregnancy.  The hCG hormone that is manufactured in synthetic form is used for the treatment of fertility issues but it was also discovered to have benefits in weight loss.

The hCG diet program requires the consumption of a low calorie diet plus the intake of hCG with a dose of 125 to 200 international units per day.  The actual dose required in the treatment of infertility is even 8 times more than what is needed for the weight loss program. The hCG solution can be taken through injection or through sublingual administration using hCG diet drops.  One good reason why the hCG diet does not really entail side effects is that the dose for dieting is too minimal.  Nonetheless, the side effects such as headaches, gallstone formation, urinary problems, and nausea are commonly seen in people who take hCG in higher doses and in prolonged use.
